Save the date: Farewell Lecture Tineke Strik

18 October 2019, T.M.C. Asser Institute

On 18 October 2019 Tineke Strik, Associate Professor in Migration Law at Radboud University Nijmegen and elected Member of the European Parliament (GreenLeft) will give a public lecture on the need for evidence-based policies in migration management.

The Netherlands Network for Human Rights Research (NNHRR) and the Migration & Borders Working Group of the NNHRR are organising this lecture to mark Tineke’s outstanding and inspirational academic career, in light of her departure for the European Parliament in Brussels. Her lecture will combine academic insights and political reality. Among many other positions and in addition to her academic career, Tineke has been a member of the Dutch senate for 12 years.

The lecture will take place at the T.M.C. Asser Institute at 16.00 on Friday, 18 October in The Hague and will be followed by a reception. Both the lecture and the reception are open to academics, researchers, and policy makers.

It will be preceded by a PhD Meet & Greet at 15.00 with Tineke Strik, where the junior members of the NNHRR will have the unique opportunity to ask direct questions and discuss with her about her experience in a more informal setting.

An official invitation and further details will follow. For questions please contact Mariana Gkliati (m.gkliati@law.leidenuniv.nl) and Annick Pijnenburg (a.pijnenburg@uvt.nl).

Please feel free to forward to others within your network.
